AYSO in San Mateo is participating in an Area wide program that offers player development in a more competitive environment. Called Extra, this program is available to players participating in the regular Fall 10 week season. Players try out and are placed on teams based on a skills assessment. San Mateo has one boys and one girls team in each of U10, U12, and U14. Extra games are played on Sunday!
Like all AYSO games, referees are needed. This is an opportunity to referee and assist in AYSO games that are of a higher caliber than most of our regular Saturday games. For referees upgrading (or planning to) to the next referee badge level it is a good opportunity to work on game counts. These games are also assessable for purposes of upgrading.
The Extra season is only 6 weeks long. Fields are the same as used for the regular season.
